چکیده

The quality of veterinary vaccines is monitored by physicochemical, microbiological and biological tests. Two of the most important physicochemical parameters are viscosity and density, which are determined in the three different types of matrices: emulsions, suspensions and solvents. Viscosity, known as internal friction or viscose medium, is a feature of fluids and plastic solids characterized by their internal resistance against flowing. Viscosity is one of the most important property of fluids (1). Newtonís law states that the force of the impact (friction) between layers of flowing liquid depends on their ratio, and the viscosity are directly proportional to the difference in flowing velocity of layers, and inversely proportional to the distance between them. Shear rate (Fig. 1) is the quotient of the velocity of liquid layers and the distance between them (2). According to the European Pharmacopoeia (3), there are two types of viscosity: dynamic and kinematic. The unit of dynamic viscosity (which is described in this paper) is the pascal ◊ second (Pa∑s). The most commonly used submultiple is the millipascal ◊ second (mPa∑s = cP). According to the European Pharmacopoeia (4), the relative density of a substance is the ratio of the mass of a certain volume of a substance at temperaDETERMINATION OF THE VISCOSITY AND DENSITY OF VETERINARY VACCINES

Determination of Surface Tension and Viscosity of Liquids by the Aid of the Capillary Rise Procedure Using Artificial Neural Network (ANN)

The present investigation entails a procedure by which the surface tension and viscosity of liquids could be redicted. To this end, capillary experiments were performed for porous media by utilizing fifteen different liquids and powders. The time of capillary rise to a certain known height of each liquid in a particular powder was recorded. Two artificial neural networks (ANNs) were...

Measuring the Density and Viscosity of Carbonated Aqueous 35 wt% Methyldiethanolamine Solution

The density and viscosity of carbonated aqueous 35wt% methyldiethanolamine solution were experimentally measured accompanied with the solubility of CO2 at temperatures from (303.15 to 363.15) K and pressures up to 0.8 MPa using the new setup developed in our laboratory. It was observed that both density and viscosity of mixtures decrease by increasing temperature and incr...

The Combined Use of rHVT-H5 and rHVT-F Vector Vaccines in the Hatchery Enhances Immunity against Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza H5N1 and Velogenic Newcastle Disease Viral Infections in Commercial Chickens

Highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 and Newcastle disease viral infections cause severe illness in chickens and vaccination is a strategic tool of controlling these diseases. Hence, this study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of using both recombinant herpesvirus of turkey (rHVT-H5 and rHVT-F) vector vaccines at day-old, in the hatchery, under field conditions. Vaccinated chickens were...

Viscosity Calculation of Supercritical Gases Based on the Rainwater-Friend Theory and the Modified Enskog Theory

A new correlation function for the calculation of viscosity for five typical supercritical gases is presented using the rainwater-Friend and modified Enskog theory. It is shown that by using accurate value for the thermal pressure and co-volume in the modified Enskog theory, this correlation function is suitable for calculation of the viscosity of supercritical gases, without any density an...
